Letter J Jesus & Christmas 😊

Christmas Blessing to our families & friends,

The Letter for this month is "J" and we are focusing of course on Jesus and his birth. Our first story for December is  about the angel coming to tell Mary she was going to be the Mother of the Son Of  God. Each class made an angel to help remember when the angel came and told Mary the news. Later in December we made mangers for little Baby Jesus. Then we combine all our classes in the rec.room for a special Christmas chapel time. It's hard to believe this is our 5th year for Growing in Grace Christmas celebration chapel. Each year our students love joining together in song as we sing our favorite Christmas songs.  Take a peek at  our chapel time this month .....

DECEMBER 11-15 The story of Jesus birth 

 MARY HAD A BABY:  NAMED HIM JESUS, LAID HIM IN A MANGER

The first day of Christmas my true love gave to       Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way 

me a partridge in a pear tree.

Praise God Our Savior is Born!

"...for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will come to all people; for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior who is Christ the Lord."   Luke 2:10b-11

Growing in Grace

The Letters for November are  G  H & I. Our stories were  about Gideon a soldier in the Lord's Army, Hannah a prayer warrior, and "I!" for - "I am Thankful" and I am Special! 

Our verses for this month were:
G -"God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1

H- He alone is my  rock and my salvation. Psalm 62:2

I- I am Special! & I am a Miracle! I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14

The Pumpkin Patch Parable

GROWING IN GRACE

OCTOBER 2017

This last week in October at chapel time I read the book 

"The Pumpkin Patch Parable . We took a different look at pumpkin carving. We are like God's little pumpkins and we learned how Jesus comes into our hearts and cleans out the "Yucky stuff" and lets his light shine in our hearts. We prayed the pumpkin patch prayer together too.    (next week back to the alphabet Letter G-Gideon)

Dear God, 

Open my mind to learn about you,

Take away all my sin and forgive me for the wrong things I do.

Open my eyes so your love I will see:

Forgive me for turning up my nose at all you've done for me.

Open my ears so your word I will hear.

Open my mouth so I can tell others about you!

Let your light shine in all I say and do! Amen
