October 10  2016                     THE ARMOR OF  THE LORD





This week we began our study of Ephesians 6:10-17 which talks about putting on the armor of God. Our first story was how Jesus called his disciples to follow him. We learned that we are followers of Jesus too and we his work must do. We began with our first piece of armor "The Shoes of the Good News of Peace."

We begin the month of October with the the story of the Wise man and the Foolish man.  We talked of God's love for us, and that he is our Rock and our Salvation. Jesus is our Light that shines in the darkness. He is our example to let our light shine for others.       Take a peek.....

This week in chapel we continued learning about how God made the world. Days 4-6 we added things to our mural. It's looking great. We also told the story together and each child put something in our story model. Hello Family and Friends,
This week  our chapel time was about  God's creation of our beautiful world. We focus mainly on days 1-3 this week, and will complete 4-7 next week. The children enjoyed making the Creation mural for the first three days. Hand painting for light and dark was a favorite for all classes. Take a look.

Growing in Grace Sept 2016

"Put on all the armor that God supplies. In this way you can take a stand against the devil's strategies. So then, take your stand! Fasten truth around your waist like a belt. Put on God's approval as your breastplate. Put on your on your shoes so you are ready to spread the Good News that gives peace.....take the Christian faith as your shield....also take salvation as your helmet and the word of God as the sword of the Spirit."   Ephesians 6:10-17 
                                                                                                                                       

Good Day Parents and families,

As a new year of Growing in Grace begins we will be putting on the Armor of the Lord  based on the scripture text above. This study will begin the last week in September and continue through the fall season.

This first week of September we have started with the parable of the Good Shepherd, and in upcoming weeks we will be learning about the Bible story of Creation. I am excited and eager to be kicking off another year of Growing in Grace.
